Everyone experiences tension almost every day, whether it is work related, family related, or a mixture of everything it isn’t good for our mental and even physical health to be constantly stressed. Considering the holidays are just around the corner it probably adds even MORE tension to everything. But if you know anything about essential oils, you know they are very helpful with battling tension among many other things. Here are a few tips on reducing tension with essential oils so you will no longer feel like your gonna pull your hair out.

Inhalation or Diffuse

You can directly inhale by rubbing in a drop or two of whatever essential oil you like best for tension relief (my personal favorite is Balance, a grounding blend) into your hands, then take and cup your hands around your nose and take about 3 deep breaths for an instant stress reducer. This method is great for when you are out and about and need a quick way to relieve your stress. Just make sure you don’t get the oil in your eyes.

A lot of people diffuse essential oils to make their house smell nice or help decongest but you can diffuse certain oils that help reduce tension, promote positive emotions and provide mental clarity. One great mix to diffuse to lift your spirit is blending 2 drops of Wild Orange, 1 drop Grapefruit, 1 drop Bergamot and 1 drop Ylang Ylang.   There are many other mixes out there that have these same benefits. So now after a long day of work, cleaning, etc. not only are you going to be making your house smell AMAZING but you are also going to reduce all of that tension you’ve built up over the day and just relax.

Relieving Muscles

Not a lot of people know this but tension can cause our bodies to lash out, such as muscles. When you get stressed mentally it also puts tension on you physically making your muscles tighten and that can cause us to be even MORE stressed which just ends up turning into a never ending cycle. When you’ve had a stressful day it is important that you relax and take care of your body. So after coming home and turning on that diffuser take a few drops of Deep Blue or Aromatouch oil and add it to a lotion or body butter (preferably non-scented) and give yourself a little massage around your neck, shoulders, legs, arms, and if you can have someone help and massage your back too. These are the parts that tense up most and get bad when you stress.

These are just a few simple tips on reducing tension with essential oils, there are SO many ways you can do this to make sure you are taking care of yourself both mentally and physically. I promise if you are someone who can’t handle or has a lot of stress these will definitely help you out if you just give them a try you will be amazed.     This is good to know, I am still and probably always be a newbie when it comes to using essential oils, I love what they can do for you and I love that you can mix them to help for that pick up during the day or just relax for me time.

NOW, I HAVE 5 KIND TO MAKE A MIX OF ALL FIVE ESSENTIAL OILS FOR THE TIME WHEN WILL BE ILLNESSES THAT ORDINARY MEDICATIONS WON’T HELP. WHEN YOU ARE GOING TO MIX THEM TRY TO USE WOOD AND/OR GLASS AND TRY TO PUT IT IN GLASS BOTTLES THAT THE COLORS ARE DARK. NOT CLEAR BOTTLES. SORRY, I KNOW THE THEME IS FOR PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL TENSIONS; BUT WE USE ESSENTIAL OILS EVERYDAY AND EVERYTHING THAT IS A NATURAL WAY TO HELP THE BODY OR OTHERS THINGS I LIKE IT.       Hi Minerva, thanks so much for sharing about your family and how essential oils helps them and you. You certainly have your life full of challenges. It is important to mix in glass as you suggest because can tend to melt other things they are put in. And a dark glass indeed keeps the oils fresher. There is nothing wrong in taking prescription medication if you need it. I take some too and wouldn’t be able to function well without Prozac or Klonopin!! Many people mix essential oils and there are blends already made that can be bought for certain ailments. I pray health for you and your family.
